Sunshine School College Prep Presentation

On August we were approached by the school principal of Sunshine School of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. It was the first time a school approached us, wanting her senior students and parents to learn more of our services and to answer any question they might have about studying abroad.

Our presentation took place on September 7th online and it was a success. Roberto began by introducing himself and gave a brief story about how Empowered started. The presentation was about the services we offered, some of the experiences our Empowered kids had with us, and letting them know about our Empowered team.

Another topic covered was the SAT and ACT exams. It’s not easy to understand the difference between both of the exams when you haven’t been through the process. We wanted to make sure that parents and students understood the difference in topics and scoring but at the same time, let them know it’s okay to choose any of these two when choosing to apply for college.

Lots of questions surged when we were having Q&A time. It was an excellent way to clear up some misconceptions, or worries that parents have about their kids going to college abroad. Learning from someone who is still living abroad and has studied hard to attend these prestigious universities gives students hope that they too, can make it happen. Roberto told them all about the scholarships and financial aid he received during his undergraduate and masters program in the United States.

Not only answering the questions but adding in personal experiences was an incredible way to let these parents and kids know it can be more than just a dream.

Our first school presentation was a success and we’re very thankful with Ms. Ana Maria Cardona for giving us the space to share our services. Hopefully the first of many more!

If you’re interested in our presentation and want to reach out, don’t doubt it for a second! We’d be glad to offer you this presentation for parents and students. Just email or contact us through any of our social medias.
